  • A computer with Internet access and a web browser of your choice
  • Free Overdrive Media Console from Overdrive (available for Windows and Mac computers, and apps for Android, Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, and Windows Mobile)

What you do:

Once you've downloaded Overdrive Media Console, you’re ready to checkout your first ebook!

Step 3: Browse for titles using the categories on the left side of the page, the rotating slideshows, or use the search box at the top of the page. You can also use the “Advanced Search feature” to limit your search to specific file formats, subjects, or to only show titles with copies available.

Step 4: Once you find an audiobook you’d like to download, select the format that is compatible with your computer or portable device. If you aren't sure which format to choose, click the “Format Info” tab.

Make sure the format plays on your computer

Some audiobooks may not be available because they are already checked out to other customers. If that’s the case, you can join the waiting list, and you’ll be notified by email when the title is ready to be downloaded. Otherwise, click on “Add to cart,” enter your library card number and PIN, then follow the prompts. Your download should automatically open in Overdrive Media Console. When prompted, you can change the default download location, if you wish. Follow the prompts to download the audiobook.

Overdrive Media Console

Once the audiobooks has been downloaded, you can use the Overdrive Media Console to listen to it on your computer, burn it to a CD, or transfer it to a portable device (depending on the specific file you’ve downloaded).
