Meet Susan Guevara
In celebration of El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), Susan Guevara, the award-winning illustrator of children’s books about Latino culture, will be visiting various libraries on both sides of the Ohio River during the week of April 22 - 29. She will also be the featured guest at a culminating fiesta at at the Main Library on April 29. Guevara’s books will be available for purchase and signing at all public events.

El Dia Artwork Display for Kids
To help welcome Susan Guevara, kids up to age 18 are invited to submit artwork under the theme “Celebrating Reading in ALL Languages.” Submissions will be accepted from April 1-20 and can be dropped off at participating libraries. All artwork will be displayed at April 29 fiesta at the Main Library. Submission Guidelines: Two-dimensional piece, maximum size of 8½″ × 11″ (accepted in marker, crayon, paint, charcoal, chalk or pencil). Artwork will not be returned, but can be picked up at the conclusion of El Dia at 4:00 p.m. Contact the children’s librarian at your neighborhood library to enter.
