With over 4,000 current title subscriptions, and archives that span four centuries, the Library’s magazine and newspaper collection is designed to support the interests of casual readers, specialists, and researchers. It includes popular local, national, and international magazines and newspapers, as well as scholarly and trade journals. Below you will find a directory of current titles in our collection. This directory does not include magazines and newspapers indexed by our databases, microforms, or titles that we are no longer receiving.
Accessing the material
Although the majority of the titles are housed in the Main Library’s Magazines and Newspapers Department, you’ll find a circulating collection of popular magazines in the Popular Library and all the branches. Genealogy magazines are shelved in the Genealogy & Local History Department, magazines for children are kept in the Children’s Learning Center, and periodicals published by the Government Printing Office can be found in the Information & Reference Department. With the exception of the magazines in the Popular Library and the branches, all material in the departments is reference only, and cannot be checked out.
