Ross A. Wright was first appointed to the Board of Library Trustees by the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas to fill an unexpired term through October 2009. He was sworn in as a Trustee at the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees on January 9, 2007. Mr. Wright serves as on the Human Resources Committee and the Library Operations-Facilities Committee.
Mr. Wright is an attorney in the Legal Department of General Electric Company (Aviation), where he currently has worldwide responsibility for commercial transactions, and negotiations, and acts as lead business counsel for various entities of the GE Aviation portfolio. Prior to joining G.E. in 2006, he managed corporate and commercial litigation worldwide for Convergys Corporation as Senior Attorney. Mr. Wright began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Trial Section of the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office and later worked as an Associate at Taft, Stettinius & Hollister L.L.P. as a litigator. Mr. Wright is also an Adjunct Professor both at Xavier University (MBA program) and also the University of Cincinnati (business law).
Mr. Wright holds B.B.A., M.B.A., and J.D. degrees (1986-1994) from the University of Cincinnati. He currently serves on the River City Correctional Facility Governing Board and is active in the GE African-American Forum, Cincinnati Black Lawyers Association and SWEL program. He is a former Board Member of Kids Voting, the Ohio Supreme Court Board of Commissioners on Character & Fitness, Hamilton County Public Defender Commission, and Cincinnati Southern Railway.
Mr. Wright is a resident of Roselawn and has twin sons.
