Here’s what our customers are saying…
- All of the staff exhibit caring and interest in helping all patrons. They are willing to go above and beyond, whatever the request. My admiration and heartfelt thanks to all of the staff.
- Once again, your Web site has helped me immeasurably. I needed to look up an obscure word, so I accessed the Oxford English Dictionary using my library card number and PIN. It is such a wonderful convenience to have this ability at my fingertips. If you keep track of usage, I hope access to this dictionary is one service you can justify maintaining.
- I needed direction and help with microfilm in the newspaper/magazine department. Emphasis on help. I haven't used a reader in 20+ years and all machines said “fiche.” Your colleagues explained dual use, showed me how to load, how to cope with damaged film, how to switch machines to improve copying (and they found the missing spindle for that machine and fixed it) etc. etc. etc. I hate microfilm I get motion sick using it. This experience was as good/easy as I can imagine, in large part to your staff's informed, gracious help for a grumpy old man.
- I think the Ohio Digital Book Project is so awesome! I love all our new technology and the library really seems to be on top of it. I think the library is the most wonderful place in the world!
- In this day of poor customer service PLCH is doing it right. Thank you so much!!
- I brought twelve young ladies to the Literature & Languages department for a research extravaganza. The staff was so helpful to the girls. This experience is so great for my students and I really appreciate all the efforts your people put forth. The girls were so impressed with the quality of the resources and they felt very special.
- Dear Cincinnati Public Library, It was my first time here today and I felt inclined to tell you that it was a wonderful experience. Everyone that helped me was kind, knowledgeable, quick, and very helpful! It relieved much research paper induced stress. Many thanks.
- Yeah!! Thank you SO much for changing the webpage to include how many times an item has been renewed. I will no longer have surprises when I go to renew items that can't be renewed. THANK YOU THANK YOU
- I heard on the radio that the Hamilton Country library system is in the top ten best libraries in the country. Congratulations! You absolutely deserve it. I often tell people - especially children - that of all the cards in my wallet my library card in the most valuable one! Kudos to all!
- Your library’s continued support in providing high quality patent and trademark service on a daily basis is truly appreciated. Your library is the public’s link to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the exceptional job your staff does every day ensures successful delivery of current patent and trademark information to the patrons of The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
- I am in awe of your blog, Turning the Page! It looks sooooo good! I especially like the ability to change colors!
- Thanks for listening to your patrons! I requested that you get books by Pamela Britton and you did. Didn’t take ya long either. Thanks again for making yet another trip OUR library a good one. Don’t know what we would do without you.
- Last week I visited the Rare Books room of the Cincinnati Public Library. I was doing research on Lane Seminary and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Thank you for your most kind, expert and efficient help. You made it possible for me to have a very effective afternoon of research, and I am grateful for your assistance.
- I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much we appreciate you being around. My wife and I have always considered The Library a wonderful resource, but now that we have a young daughter to read to, we are finding out what a great resource the library is for children’s books as well (even though we'd walk through the children's area every time we visited before we had a child). Now that our daughter is getting older (2), we are really starting to take advantage of so many of the books that you have for children. Recently, I have taken out a number of tremendously enjoyable books that I may not have bought at a bookstore simply because of the cost/first impressions. Or I may not have found them at all because there is only so much room at a bookstore to stock books and often the best sellers are the ones that get shelf space. This is what I think I’ve found most enjoyable lately: being able to grab ten books and read them a few times over before I make a judgment on whether I (or more importantly, my daughter!) likes them all. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you and everyone of the librarians do to help Cincinnati be a good place to live. P.S. A special thank you to the people who make the decisions on which books to buy. You’re doing a wonderful job—
