Bookworks 10 slideshow
The Cincinnati Book Arts Society (CBAS) will hold its tenth annual exhibit of traditional and contemporary handmade books in the Atrium of the Main Library from June 8 to September 6. Composed of professional and amateur book artists, as well as archivists and conservators, this nonprofit organization is dedicated to creating a spirit of community among hand workers in the book arts and those who love books. This year’s exhibit (Bookworks 10) showcases a selection of handmade books that demonstrate a variety of techniques and approaches used in traditional and contemporary bookmaking.
More Than Words: The Book as Art
In conjunction with the Cincinnati Book Arts Society’s Bookworks exhibit, selections from the Main Library’s artists’ book collection are also on display. This year’s exhibit, entitled, The Keith Kuhn Memorial Artists’ Book Exhibit - More Than Words: The Book as Art, is dedicated to former Library Services Director Keith Kuhn, who passed away in 2008. Over sixty books—many of them hand made, one-of-a-kind objects—will be on display in the Main Library's Cincinnati Room. The exhibit will be on view from June 12 through September 7.
