What’s New · Upcoming Used Book Sale

Plenty of shoppers always turn out for the sale

The Friends of the Public Library hope to maintain the momentum of a record-breaking 2008 with the 37th Annual Friends— Used Book Sale at the Main Library, Sunday, May 31 through Friday, June 5. Last June, the Friends raised $84,470, making the 36th Annual Sale its most successful ever. Stock up for summer and support your Public Library at the same time! Choose from thousands of materials—paperbacks from as little as 50 cents—hardback fiction, nonfiction, and reference books as well as DVDs and CDs starting at just $2.00! Plus, Friday is Bag Day. Buy a Friends’ shopping bag for $10.00, and fill it with books, CDs, and more! Proceeds from the sale help support adult and children’s programs, and purchase special library materials and equipment.

After you’ve worked up an appetite rummaging for treasures, why not stop at Le’s Cafe? They’ll be on the Walnut Street Plaza from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that week, selling grilled hotdogs, brats, chicken, hamburgers, and their famous (voted “best sandwich” by Cincinnati Magazine in 2007) pulled pork sandwich!
