Library named as prestigious Five-Star Library by Library Journal for fourth consecutive year

In 2017, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County:

Loaned 19,838,362 items.

Loaned 3,457,482 digital books, music, movies, and magazines from Overdrive, Hoopla, Freading, Rbdigital, Freegal, Zinio, Kanopy, Scholastic BookFlix, and TumbleBooks.

Served 494,936 registered borrowers.

Held 26,862 programs attended by 455,244 people.

Answered 1,664,546 reference questions.

Recorded 16,073,226 online resource visits, including 4,406,140 database uses and 11,667,086 web page visits.

Issued 2,676 passports.

Registered 325 new voters.

Processed 93,896 total interlibrary loans with SearchOhio.

Jumped three spots to become second busiest in the nation, according to the 2017 Public Library Data Service (PLDS) statistical report. (The PLDS does not rank libraries. Rankings were calculated locally based on data from the survey.)

Received a Five-Star Rating by Library Journal for fifth consecutive year.
