Anderson Library Committee's 21st Annual Used Book Sale to Be Held at Nagel Middle School June 22-24

For the first time in 20 years, the annual used book and record sale sponsored by the Anderson Library Committee will be held at a location other than Beechmont Mall. The 21st annual sale will take place at Nagel Middle School, 1500 Nagel Road, the weekend of June 22-24.

"We want to make sure people know the sale will go on, despite the reconstruction of Beechmont Mall," said Terry Goyer, Book Sale Chair. "We are really indebted to the mall management for allowing us to have the sale there the past 20 years, and to use vacant storefronts to store, sort and price our donations. But, we are also looking forward to a new relationship with the Forest Hills School District, which has generously allowed us use of the new middle school this year."

Goyer reminds avid book buyers that the sale, which traditionally occurs the first weekend in March, will now take place the fourth weekend in June. "We want to make sure people are aware of the new location, as well as the new date," she continued. "We have a loyal following, and since this is our biggest fundraiser, we want to insure its success."

Through the Committee's efforts, more than a half a million dollars has been raised to support the Anderson and Mt. Washington Branch libraries. It has also provided trust funds for both branches to purchase books, establish the Anderson Community Collection, bring in noted speakers to the branch, and provide for children and adult programming.

Books on most topics, including sci-fi paperbacks, are available along with a special section of collectible, rare and unusual books to include fiction and nonfiction titles and a variety of cookbooks. Plenty of encyclopedia sets and dictionaries (as well as videos, CDs, cassettes and books-on-tape) will also be on hand.
