JAZZ IN JULY SERIES CONTINUES AT MAIN LIBRARY WITH LATIN X-POSURE JULY 20

Latin X-Posure heads off the third concert in the Jazz in July series at the Main Library, 800 Vine Street, on Friday, July 20, 7:00 p.m. The band has taken the old sounds of jazz and fused it into a new sound that runs the gamut from salsa, merengue, bolero and other Latin rhythms with a mixture of vocals and instrumentals.

Latin X-Posure was born from the eagerness to create something new. The many years of experience and energy by the 12 band members brings old sounds combined with new rhythms.  The group consists of leader-pianist-composer Patrick Kelly, vocalists Llilian Valdes, Maribel Andrade, Maria Alvarez, and Laura Toscaris; Joe Gaudio on baritone and alto saxophones; Clarence Pawn on trombone, Gary Winters and Brian Schwab on trumpet; Victor Velez on congas; Chris Velez on bongos and campana, Michael Sharte on bass; and Miguel Maldonado on timbales and guiro. Last year the group released its first CD, Donde Estas?

The final concert in the Jazz in July series is Hip-hop Jazz Fusion: The Mike Wade Group on July 27.
