Harrison Branch Library Manager Selected the "Best Public Librarian"

in Cincinnati Magazine's "Best of the City" Issue - October


Harrison Branch Manager Margaret Rieger has been named "Best Public Librarian" in Cincinnati Magazine's 25th Anniversary "Best of the City" issue, which was published in October. In the magazine, some of Ms. Rieger's most-noted achievements while working for the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County were cited, including the community outreach programs and senior citizen's book club she initiated while manager of the Monfort Heights Branch Library.


It was also noted that through her efforts the branch experienced an increase in circulation of 25 percent. Ms. Rieger received her MLS from Indiana University in 1988. She began her career with the Library as a Student Assistant at the Westwood Branch in 1980. She also served as a Summer Assistant in 1982 and 1983 at Price Hill. In 1984, she was appointed part-time Library Assistant at West Fork Branch and became a full-time Library Assistant at Roselawn Branch in 1986. She became a Children's Librarian at Westwood Branch in 1988 and was then promoted to Branch Manager at Miami Township in 1990. She was Branch Manager at Monfort Heights from 1994 until her latest position as the new Branch Manager at Harrison Branch Library.
