VANISHING CINCINNATI BOOK DEBUT
Cover of Vanishing Cincinnati with Ohio River IllustrationA program celebrating the launch of artists David and Barbara Day’s new book, Vanishing Cincinnati, will take place at the Main Library on Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. The images and stories in the book showcase the city from 1850 to 1950, when the urban fabric was tightly woven with an eclectic mix of residential neighborhoods, parks, shops, and entertainment, all nestled within embracing hilltops, and with a street-level infrastructure. Join us for panel discussion featuring the Days and local historian and former Cincinnati Enquirer columnist Owen Findsen in the third floor study area adjacent to the Genealogy & Local History Department. A book signing will follow with copies of the book available for purchase courtesy of the Friends of the Public Library.
WE’RE A STAR LIBRARY!
For the third consecutive year, our Library was recognized by Library Journal as a Star Library and it’s all thanks to you! This prestigious national recognition is awarded to libraries that are most heavily used. A major goal of the ratings is to showcase U.S. public libraries whose levels of service delivery distinguish them among their peers. Ratings are determined by the number of per person library visits, items borrowed, program attendance, and computer use. Our scores are then compared to 7,570 other public libraries across the country.
THE ANNUAL FUND
Thanks to the support of our generous donors, the Library Foundation has been able to support the Library in a number of important ways the past year.  Please consider making a contribution to the Foundation this year—every dollar makes a difference and it’s tax-deductible.
