Classical/Pop singer Faryl Smith’s audition for the popular TV show Britain’s Got Talent gained her instant celebrity as her “Ave Maria” brought down the house and became a You Tube overnight sensation. Her signature song is just one of twelve stunning tracks that mix classical with pop culture. The eclectic mix includes an Abba remake of “The Way Old Friends Do”, “River of Light” based on Strauss’s “The Blue Danube”, a cover of John Denver’s “Annie’s Song”, and an old Welsh hymn taught to Faryl by her grandfather. With a 60-piece orchestra backing her, the young mezzo-soprano sings with a maturity far beyond her years.
