George Strait

One of the new country singers to appear on the music scene in the early 1980s, George Strait crafted his style more in the traditional of honky tonk and western swing made popular by country greats Merle Haggard and Bob Wills. Strait revitalized traditional country and his efforts over the last three decades have earned him a total of 38 hit albums, a Grammy in 2009 for Troubadour as Best Country Album, and the 2009 Country Music Association’s Artist of the Decade Award. His most recent album, Twang includes the lead-off single “Living for the Night”, written with his son Bubba and songwriter Dean Dillon.
