Shooting Stars
NBA superstar LeBron James and acclaimed sportswriter Buzz Bissinger (Friday Night Lights, 1990 and Three Nights in August, 2005) pen this moving story of LeBron and his high school basketball team, the Shooting Stars. All four members were underprivileged inner-city basketball buddies in Akron, Ohio, but won scholarships to play at the predominantly white high school, St. Vincent-St. Mary. Despite setbacks, LeBron’s remarkable performance pushed him and his team into the public limelight and earned them a spot in the national championships.
