In Jonathan Kellerman's (True Detectives, 2009) 24th Alex Delaware mystery (after Bones, 2008), L.A. police Lieutenant Milo Sturgis and psychologist Alex Delaware investigate the double murder of two lovers found in an unfinished mansion. The male victim, eco-friendly architect Desmond Backer, was known for seducing women—except his ex-boss, Helga Gemein, who spurned his advances. She’s on Milo and Alex’s short list of suspects, but the more they dig for clues, the longer their list grows--until the investigation takes a startling turn.
