Historical fiction writer Jeff Shaara concludes his popular World War II trilogy (after The Rising Tide, 2006 and The Steel Wave, 2008). Shaara describes the final months of the European theater--from the Battle of the Bulge to the liberation of the concentration camps—as seen through the eyes of generals Dwight D. Eisenhower and George Patton, Nazi Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt and Armaments Minister Albert Speer, and soldiers in combat. Shaara is the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Shaara (The Killer Angels, 1974).
