One of the most highly acclaimed art series ever produced, Art 21, now in its fifth season, offers an in-depth look at a number of the world's most remarkable, contemporary artists who represent a wide range of talents and techniques. Their projects range from the grandeur of the large scale to the simple beauty found in the attention to detail. The fourteen chosen artists share their personal stories and demonstrate the creative processes behind their unique contributions to the world of art. The featured artists for this fifth season include animated film creator William Kentridge, furniture maker Mary Heilmann, neo-pop sculptor Jeff Koons, and conceptual artist John Baldessari.
