Based on a (Partially) True Story
Mark Kelly

Meteor the mouse is chosen as one of six mice to have the honor of riding on a space shuttle mission. As the smallest mouse he is a natural in zero gravity and is allowed out of the cage, free to float and enjoy the ride. When a key on the control panel gets stuck, Meteor is small enough to save the day. Author Kelly, husband of Gabrielle Giffords, noticed a research mouse on his first Endeavor flight that was the inspiration for Meteor. C.F. Payne’s textured illustrations give Meteor an air of confidence and poise. Mousetronaut, let the countdown begin! Ages 5-6.
