Leo Maxwell has just passed the California bar and is out celebrating with his older brother Teddy when the unthinkable happens. A stranger walks up and shoots Teddy point blank in the head, leaving him in a coma. There is a plethora of suspects, as Teddy, a successful criminal defense lawyer, made many enemies over the years. One of those enemies is the San Francisco police department, who seem oddly reluctant to investigate the case. So newly minted lawyer Leo turns private detective to find the shooter--and finds danger everywhere he turns. A phenomenal debut.
