Next month marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. For most of us, those images of nearly 300,000 people gathered around the relecting pool and standing in front of the Capitol are victorious symbols of the Civil Rights movement in America. Photojournalist Stanley Tretick captured the spirit and importance of the people's passion on that hot August day. While there are celebrated figures in some of these pictures, most are common people who felt strongly that they wanted to be a part of this historic moment.
