Pieces of Me
Kizer’s (A Matter of Days, 2013) latest offering is an unusual story that ties the lives of five completely different teens together. After high school introvert Jessica Chai is killed in a car accident, her parents decide that she would have wanted her organs donated to desperately ill patients. But Jessica is angry about dying and being dismembered. Her organ recipients unexpectedly receive pieces of Jessica's memories and her angry spirit lives on through their recoveries and lives. But it is through them that Jessica comes to learn about herself as she watches the lives she touched continue to interlock.
