My Dad's Dream for Me
Daniel Beaty

Every morning a boy and his father play a game: "Knock Knock," says papa as he knocks on the door, and the boy pretends to be asleep, before jumping into his father's arms. Then one morning, the knock doesn't come and the boy wakes up to find his father gone. Left with his mother, the child feels lost, until he receives a moving letter from his father filled with advice to guide him through the times he cannot be there. Ages 4 to 8.
