The Mighty Lalouche

Matthew Olshan

Lalouche loves his work as a postman in 1890’s Paris. Though he is slight, he’s blessed with strong arms, nimble fingers and fast legs. When he is replaced on his route by an electric car he finds work at the Bastille Boxing Club. Soon he is sparring and winning bouts against formidable foes, making him the champion of Paris. The amusing text is sprinkled with French phrases and the exaggerated illustrations are magnificent – kids will giggle and cheer as Lalouche wins his bouts and later resumes his job as postman extraordinaire! Ages 5-7
