The Possibility Dogs:What a Handful of "Unadoptables" Taught Me About Service, Hope, and Healing
In 2010, Charleston wrote about search-and-rescue dogs in her book, Scent of the Missing. In her newest book, she promotes service dogs, in particular those used for psychiatric service. Charleston has a keen sense of what sort of dog can be trained to help people with PTSD, OCD behaviors, and panic attacks. She makes these canines affordable by searching the animal shelters and rescuing dogs with potential. It's a win-win situation, with a new and more productive life for both people and animals.
