Crankee Doodle

Tom Angleberger

Crankee Doodle is bored so his pony suggests going to town. Crankee despises going to town: “No way. I hate going to town. There are too many people in town.” Pony suggests shopping, Crankee hates shopping, after all he has too much stuff. Each suggestion from Pony is met with disdain and a long-winded rant. Both Crankee and Pony have meltdowns and eventually they reach a compromise of sorts. Bell’s bold gauche illustrations feature comic book panels and speech bubbles that will have kids laughing all the way to town. Angleberger, best-selling author of the Origami Yoda series, has created a clever and goofy tribute to one of America’s favorite songs. Ages 4-6
