Tibetan Peach Pie:A True Account of an Imaginitive Life
The quirky author of fiction books like Still Life with Woodpecker (1980) and Jitterbug Perfume (1984) is now the subject of his newest book. Robbins says “if it doesn’t read like a normal memoir, that may be because I haven’t exactly led what most people would consider a normal life." At any rate, it is an account of the crazy but "absolutely true" events of Robbins's life: his early childhood in rural Appalachia, his stint in Korea, his many loves and marriages, and his path to writing and to the Pacific Northwest. Die-hard Robbins fans will enjoy this peek into the intelligently goofy and always fertile mind of this inventive writer.
