We Are the Goldens
Reinhardt (The Summer I Learned to Fly, 2011) looks at the close but complicated relationship between two sisters. Fifteen-year-old Nell is devoted to her older sister Layla. Up until now they have been inseparable, but once Nell begins her freshman year, Layla changes, becoming distant and withdrawn. Also, there are rumors spreading that she is having an affair with a teacher. Stunned by the news, Nell wants to be the good sister she's always been, but with so much at stake, she isn’t sure what to do. All the while, Nell is suffering through a romantic disaster of her own.
