Take Me out to the Ball Game!

Cincinnati, home to the oldest professional baseball team, is celebrating the sport this summer.

The Library and the Cincinnati Reds are teaming up to encourage local readers to “Get on Top of Your Game @ the Library,” with chances for Reds tickets and other prizes for readers who check out five or more items between Opening Day and National Library Week.

The citywide Bats Incredible! public art project takes the celebration to the streets with creative sculptures made from Louisville Slugger baseball bats.

From Opening Day Parade (watch for the Library team!) through a summer-long lineup of programs and displays, the festivities continue!

And since baseball has probably inspired more writers and moviemakers than any other American sport, start the season right with baseball fact, fiction, and films from the Library.
