Main Library Brain Camps

Week-long camps are also offered at the Main Library all summer. Camps run from 1–4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Grade levels vary weekly. Themes include:

June 1-5: Under the Big Top (Grades 1-5)

Roll up, roll up to the greatest show on earth, coming to town for one week only. Be amazed! Join in the fun with face painting, juggling, tightrope walking, and much more.

June 8-12: Around the World in 80 (or maybe just 5) Days (Grades 3-5)

Come on a wonderful, whirlwind wander around the world. Learn about different cultures, different music, and sample different delicious food.

June 15-19: Under the Sea (Grades 1-2)

Sebastian in the Little Mermaid said, “Life under the sea is better than anything they’ve got up there!" Explore a world of fish, dolphins, turtles, and other sea creatures to find out if it’s true!

June 22-26: Groovy Geeks (Grades 3-5)

Did you know that the first Olympic Games took place in 776 B.C. and the first Olympic champion was a Greek cook named Coroebus who won the sprint race? Join in our own Olympic games, look inside the Trojan Horse, find out some fantastic facts about those groovy Greeks, and make some crazy crafts.

July 7-10: Star Wars (Grades 1-5)

May the force be with you as you explore new galaxies this week. Practice your Jedi skills through a variety of activities such as making masks and lightsabers. Stormtroopers welcome!

July 13-17: Bits and Pieces (Grades 6-8)

This week’s camp features a little bit of everything: The All-Star Celebration, anime, Comic Con, science experiments, and a visit to the MakerSpace. If any of these interest you, this week is your week!

July 20-24: Gold Rush (Grades 3-5)

Strike it rich this week as we head west to pan for gold, create wonderful Native American crafts, and have fun in a hoe down. Find out if all that glitters is not gold as we do some amazing glitter crafts.

July 27-31: Summer Safari (Grades 1-5)

No more monkeying around, join us on a sensational safari and have a wild adventure learning about amazing animals.
