Preschool – Recommended for birth – age 5
All you need to get started is to go online or sign up at any one of our libraries.
Beginning June 1st, track your child’s reading online. For every five books that are read, your child has completed a level. Once a level is complete, visit any Library location to collect a prize.
You’re never too young to start reading. Check out some ideas for literacy activities that you can do with your baby.
- Level 1 – Book
- Level 2 – Sports Duck
- Level 3 – Floating Boat Bath Toy
- Level 4 – Pail and Shovel and an entry into the grand prize drawing
This year’s grand prizes are better than ever. Participants who reach Level 4 by June 30th are entered to win a drawing for a family four pack of passes to Coney Island! If your child reaches Level 4 by July 31st, they will be entered to win four tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game!
After your child has completed Level 4, keep reading for the chance to earn more entries into the grand prize drawing! For each additional 5 books read, your child will earn another entry.
Help us get Summer Reading started! Kids and their families are invited to stop by the Main Library’s Children's Learning Center or any of our branches between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4th to decorate a Team Read pennant during our official Summer Reading Program kickoff celebration. We’ll supply everything you need to personalize your pennant.
A couple of special guests will be helping us kick off Summer Reading! Meet the Cincinnati Bearcat at the Anderson Branch and the Cincinnati Kings at the Pleasant Ridge Branch.
Then be sure to visit your local library all summer to pick up books and attend some of our fun programs!
