Friends Shop Celebrates 25th Anniversary
The Friends Shop at the Main Library is celebrating its 25th Anniversary on Sunday, November 2, and you’re invited to the party!
Come to the Main Library on November 2 between 1–4 pm to join in the celebration. Enjoy some refreshments and bid on items in the Silent Auction, which include a handmade Library quilt by Dora Schield, a gift basket of Shop goodies, handmade jewelry, collectible books and more.
While you’re there, start your holiday shopping early by buying some of the unique items in the Shop which will delight readers and writers as well as family and friends of all ages. Don’t forget: Members of The Friends receive a discount on all items purchased at the Shop.

Friends Shop Open on Sundays in November and December
To accommodate holiday shoppers, the Friends Shop in the Main Library will be open from 1–4 pm on Sundays in November and December. A selection of seasonal merchandise as well as a large selection of gently used books, CDs, DVDs and videos is available for purchase. The Shop also offers a variety of unusual items which are rarely found elsewhere, such as books and material pertaining to the Cincinnati area and unique boxed or individual greeting cards.

On-Going Sales At Warehouse Resume in September
The Friends Warehouse on Vine Street in Hartwell will re-open for on-going Sales in September. The Warehouse will be open for members-only sales every Wednesday from 10 am to noon beginning Sept. 3, and on the second Monday of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 pm beginning Sept. 8. Sales will be open to the public on the fourth Saturday of the month from 10 am to 2 pm beginning Sept. 27.

The Friends of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the Library make information and knowledge accessible to the communities it serves. The Friends purchases special library materials and equipment, and sponsors numerous programs throughout the year. Funds are generated by memberships, book and shop sales, and gifts and grants. Fifty Years of Friends, by Bob Vitz, “documents the journey of a fledgling organization that started in 1957 and has evolved into a dedicated group of civic-minded individuals determined to make a difference in the community on behalf of the Library that they cherish and love.”
