What kind of materials are in the collection? Adobe EPUB, Kindle, PDF, and Overdrive READ eBooks. Ebooks and comic books. Adobe EPUB and PDF eBooks.
Is special software needed to read the eBooks on my computer? Adobe Digital Editions is needed to download EPUB titles. Overdrive READ titles are read in a web browser. No plugins are needed to read Hoopla eBooks or comics. Yes, Adobe Digital Editions.
Are apps available for my mobile device? Yes, the Libby app for iOS and Android devices; the Overdrive app for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire/HD, Nook Color/Tablet, and Windows 8/10 devices; or the Kindle reading app. Yes, the Hoopla Digital app for iOS and Android devices. Yes, the Freading app for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. The app is not compatible with Nook tablets.

How many titles can be checked out at a time? Customers can have a total of 40 items checked out from Overdrive regardless of format. Customers have a checkout limit of 15 downloads per month. Hoopla also has a daily limit for downloads which resets at 8:00 pm. Please try after 8:00 pm, or the following day, if you receive this message: “The daily lending limit has been met. Please save this title to your Favorites and try again tomorrow.” Customers have a checkout limit of 12 books per week. Unused checkouts roll over to the next week, and up to 3 subsequent weeks.
How long is the loan period? 7, 14, or 21 days 21 days 14 days
Can I place holds on titles? If a title is checked out, you must put your name on a waiting list for it. You may have up to 20 items on hold. Hoopla Digital titles are always available; you don't have to put holds on them. Freading eBooks are always available; you don't have to put holds on them.
Can titles be renewed? The Renew option becomes available three days before a title expires and appears next to the title on your Checkouts page. If the title already has holds, you can't renew it, but you can request it again. Titles cannot be renewed. Titles can be renewed once during the original checkout period.
