You're invited to attend a two-part “Jazz with O.T. Christmas Party” on Friday, December 18 at the Main Library .

The festivities begin at 12:00 p.m. with the unveiling of the revamped Jazz with O.T. radio show collection on compact disc, and the debut release of a new CD — Remembering O.T.: A Celebration of Oscar Treadwell. The radio show collection CDs have a new cover design, accompanied by a new CD index, which makes it extremely easy to find information on over 170 jazz and blues musicians. The new CD, Remembering O.T.: A Celebration of Oscar Treadwell, was produced by the MacDowell Society and will be available for checkout exclusively at the Main Library.

The unveiling will feature a performance of holiday music by Cammy award winning pianist Steve Schmidt. The native Cincinnatian is regionally and nationally known for his work with The Blue Wisp Big Band and his tenure as the house pianist for the Blue Wisp Jazz Club. He has appeared on four CDs with The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra as well as many other Cincinnati artists’ albums.

The second half of this celebration continues from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Blue Wisp Jazz Club. At this listening party guests will enjoy the Jazz with O.T. Christmas Special, which originally aired on WVXU in 1997.

The Library is hosting these two free events in collaboration with the MacDowell Society, and the Blue Wisp Jazz Club.
