About On the Same Page

In an effort to foster a sense of community through reading, area organizations joined in partnership in 2002 to establish On The Same Page, a citywide reading project. This program was modeled after the first organized community reading event, which was held in Seattle in 1997. Since then, thousands of people from around the Tristate came together to read:

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (adult title)
Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix (young adult title)

Crossing the River by Caryl Phillips (adult title)
Hush by Jacqueline Woodson (young adult title)

Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol (adult title)
Marika by Andrea Cheng (young adult title)

A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines

The Library of Congress maintains a state-by-state list of past and current "one book" projects.
