In Broadway's fantasy debut, the people of Saintstone literally wear their lives on their skin because every citizen has their life's story, both the good and the bad tattooed on their bodies. After they die, if the government decides a person is worthy of the honor, their skin is turned into a book to be treasured by their family. Leora has always dreamed of becoming an inker, the person responsible for tattooing people’s stories onto their skin. But after her father dies she's shocked to see that his skin has the symbol of the worst crime a person can commit in Saintstone. She knows it has to be a mistake, but before Leora can do anything about it, the horrifying secret gets out, jeopardizing her father's legacy and her life.
