The Summer I Met Jack
In 1950, young Polish refugee Alicia Darr arrives in Hyannisport, Massachusetts to work for one of the wealthiest families in America. She is at once attracted to one of their sons, a rising politician named Jack. After his father forbids their relationship, Alicia trades Hyannisport for Hollywood, and then Rome. She dates famous actors, all the while staying close with Jack. A decade after they meet, on the eve of Jack's inauguration as the 35th President of the United States, the two must confront what they mean to each other. A fascinating re-imagining of the affair between John Kennedy and Alicia Corning Clark from the author of The Book of Summer (2017).
