The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County invites you to Discover Summer as you embark on your summer learning journey.
Participation in our summer program is open to kids of all ages and is completely free. No Library card is required.
Youth and families may visit Library locations this summer to collect one free book and one activity booklet per child/teen.
Free books and activity booklets are available for pickup, at Library locations offering drive-thru or curbside service. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to make materials available as soon as possible. For the most up-to-date information on what Library services are currently available, visit our Services Update page.
These activity booklets are your guide to summer learning, containing ideas and inspiration for things you can do anywhere to keep your brains engaged all summer. Booklets are available for youth based on age range, so every kid has access to developmentally appropriate brain fuel.
Research shows that kids who don’t practice reading and math skills over the summer experience a “summer slide,” where they lose some of the progress they made during the school year. Now more than ever, it is important to help kids keep their skills sharp. Your Library is committed to providing you tools to keep kids learning over the summer—and better yet, make summer learning fun.
